SEPT. 1, 1970

“We are burning from within and our flames will light the path of our liberation.”

Gay Flames was a pamphlet series written by a group of gay men in GLF. This issue includes a very conversational eyewitness account of the first Christopher Street Liberation Day march on the 1-year anniversary of the Stonewall Riot, describing streets and locations along the way, interactions with police, chants shouted, and more. It also covers a demonstration at NYU’s Weinstein Hall, and shares its mission.
